Welcome Adventurers,
Spontaneous eruptions of magical energy left the world disconnected and feral. Portals between the continents and planes shattered. Creatures grew in size or developed new abilities. Gathered energy bound itself to items, forming unstable artifacts of unknown power.
A century later, most people are just trying to survive. There are those, however, who seek to subdue, understand, or control these artifacts. Their reasons are their own, as are yours.
Will you work with the Weaver's Guild, an organization who operates in the shadows? Or, perhaps, the Den of Papyrus is more your speed? Most librarian types opt for this route.
You could try going about it on your own, but that hasn't ended well for most Acquisitionists... (shudders) No matter. I'm sure you'll find whatever it is your looking for...
