Nanraji
Nanraji is an immortal sphinx residing in a temple half submerged by the sand, on the Plane of Air.
They are twice the size of a normal lion, appearing at first to be carved of stone. Their fur glistens like it’s made of spun gold and silver. Their head is humanoid, androgynous, and wears a headdress of dangling gems and polished stones. Their eyes are entirely black, and seem to be looking at you regardless of where they turn their head.
Prior to The Flood they were worshipped by a cult of mortals on the material plane who would pilgrimage to their temple, but had no contact since, until The Folly accidentally discovered the temple on an unplanned trip to the plane.
Nanraji was worshipped as a deity of knowledge, and has an insatiable curiosity for information. Though no longer worshipped on the material plane, they are capable of providing boons or answers in exchange for information or even gossip.
