Fala Sumaire

Fala Sumaire was a vampire, who took up residence in the empty mansion north of Ochar with the intention of completing the ritual which had destroyed the Pharika/Fierna cult in the Nathair Wood thirty years earlier.   She was killed by The Folly in Sidrun, 829OE.

Early Life

1 Tal 795   My Fala,   Our thanks, as always, for your generous gifts. Elodie adores the music box, she has not stopped playing it since it arrived, your mother and I will be hearing the tune in our sleep I’m sure!   We hope you will be returning home this autumn for a visit? Garett and Marla are to be wed on 21 Calva, so we will be staying in town that week, and would dearly love to see you. Please let us know as soon as you can.   With all our love,   Father
17 Sidrun 795   My Fala,   We hope you are faring well. It sounded from your last letter that you had perhaps been under the weather? I hope the college are looking after you - it is the least they owe you!   Garett and Marla send their love, as do all the family. Many asked after you, at the wedding. It makes us so proud to talk about you, but we do wish we could see you more often.   Have enclosed some of the tea you like, as I know it is difficult to procure there.   With all our love,   Father
10 Iris 797   Dear Fala,   I am disappointed not to have had a response to my last letter. I do hope it reached you, as we had enclosed some gifts, and Elodie had written a note of her own. We have been telling her how busy you are, but please, if you have a moment, consider sending a few words for her.   Your mother and I have been discussing making a trip south over the summer. I will write again once we have firm plans.   She has asked me to add our hopes that you are feeling quite well now, as you did not mention your health in your last letter.   All our love,   Father
22 Badri 800   My dear Fala,   We hope against hope that you are well.   We contacted the college, but they confirmed they also had not heard from you in the past two years.   I cannot imagine you have been receiving my letters, and would be so callous not to respond. I write in the hope that whoever resides at this address now will know what has become of you, and put our hearts at rest.   Your mother and I, your sister, and all your family, love and miss you.   Father

Relationship with Alric Kota

Fala Sumaire studied at the College For Transmutative Studies in Avelin for the same period as Alric Kota. They knew each other as peers, and some years after their studies were completed Sumaire wrote to him while he was staying on Ulna, having heard rumour of his illness and miraculous recovery.
5 Paiva 820   Sumaire,   Thank you for your letter. I admit I was surprised to hear from you after so many years!   I am well. Travelling suited me fine, but I am enjoying a period of being settled in one place. I have been staying on Ulna for the past three months. The climate is a bit more bracing than Phalema’s, and the academic culture quite different. But it is good to focus fully on research again.   It looks from the return address that you have travelled yourself? This surprises me too, as I recall you talking of returning home often. Still, much time has passed since then.   Regarding the calculations you enclosed: may I ask what you have based these on? I cannot think of any common sources that deal with this branch of magic. They are certainly of interest, however. I hope you do not mind that I have added some notes to your copy, enclosed.   You can send any further correspondence to me direct at this same address; I have no current plans to move.   Regards,   Kota
8 Sidrun 821   Sumaire,   I am sorry for the delay in responding to your last letter. I have been busy with my research, and I confess, I was unsure how to respond. I cannot give the answers you seek. But I caution against this road you seem so set on. It is a curse, not the freedom you believe it to be.   With my sympathy,   Kota

Sybella
