The Red Blades
The Red Blades is a group of sell-swords that were once member's of The Crimson Guard. They are now operating as outlaws throughout The Empire. Though every member of The Red Blades left the Guard for their own reasons, it was mostly due to an event that happened to a Brother guard, where the Emperor allowed the Brothers family to be killed for political reasons. Though the Emperor denies this to be what actually happened. No matter the reason, the entirety of The Crimson Guard left the order and are now wanted.
As the name suggests, The Red Blades have kept the cloaks of their left order. Choosing to keep them, showing their skill and prowess as warriors. The Red Blades are operating outside the law and are both feared or admired by the people of the Empire. The name Red Blades also has a double meaning, as it refers to the physical blades that the outlaw guards use in combat, as well as the metaphorical blades of their cunning and deception.
As former members of the Crimson Guard, the Red Blades have a deep connection to the symbol embroidered on their cloaks, and some have mixed feelings about removing or altering it. On one hand, the symbol represents their past and their loyalty to the Emperor and the Empire. On the other hand, the symbol also a reminder of their betrayal and their status as outlaws. The Red Blades have different approaches to dealing with the symbol on their cloaks, and these approaches reflect their individual personalities and motivations.
Some of the Red Blades have chosen to remove the symbol from their cloaks, as a way of rejecting their past and their allegiance to the Empire. They do this by cutting the symbol out, burning it, or covering it with a new symbol that represents their new identity as outlaws.
Other Red Blades choose to keep the symbol on their cloaks, as a way of honoring their past and their connection to the Crimson Guard. They did this by maintaining the symbol in its original form, or by adding a new symbol that represents their new role as outlaws
Still other Red Blades choose to modify the symbol on their cloaks, as a way of reconciling their past and their present. They do this by adding new elements to the symbol, such as a skull or a serpent, that represent their new identity as outlaws.
Though their names have been completely stricken from the records, they have all chosen new names, and these names are as followed: Thorne, Lilith, Zander, Kato, Riven, Ira, & Styx.
