Greater Circle of Seradon

The Greater Circle of Seradon is a powerful and ancient institution in the lands of men. It's membership is comprised of the Archdruids of all officially recognized Druid Circles on the continent of Seradon, and their officially stated purpose is to maintain the balance of nature in all Seradonian Lands.

The Greater Circle is said to have been founded in ancient times, when men were still new to the western continent on which they live. It is said that the whole continent was once a barren wasteland, and in those early days many men became druids to invigorate the earth. In time these druids organized into Circles, and in further time, the Circles organized into the Greater Circle. It is said that the combined efforts of the Greater Circle shape the climate of Seradon, and that without their efforts the entire continent would return to the barren wasteland it once was.

The Greater Circle of Seradon predates The Human Kingdom of Seradon by several centuries, and technically operates outside the influence or control of the crown - though they are said to have a friendly relationship, and cooperate on matters of great importance. The Greater Circle has historically kept itself removed from political matters, and remains staunchly neutral in wars between men. Member circles are technically not bound by this, but as a matter of culture it is general practice for them to do the same.

The Location of the Greater Circle's headquarter is generally understood to be in the Boar forest, but it's precise location is a very well kept secret - supposedly only known to the Archdruid members themselves. From this hidden grove their influence radiates powerfully across the land. Individual druids are well respected, learned members of human society, and carry great importance in Human culture. As a result, the local influence of a druid circle can be considerable, and the aggregate influence of the Greater Circle - immeasurable.
