History
When dragons once roamed the land, they needed servants to keep their rule of the world. Most of the world was against their tyrannical rule, but there were some who dared to take their side. People who offered to serve as humanoid minions. To reward them of their service, they were given a ritual to gift them the power and blood of dragons themselves, making them inpure mixes of both humanoid and dragon.
They were able to take the likeness of dragons, gaining their strength in combat. They were given the title of Drakin. However, as the years went on, more and more Drakin and dragons perished to the war against humans, thus the few dragons that remained had to be taken to hidden sanctuaries hidden in two points of the world, one in the east kingdom, and one in the west kingdom.
These hidden sanctuaries were where the Drakin formed their settlements, hiding away from the world as it became believed that Dragons have been all killed to extinction. The Drakin took human-like forms to try and hide among others, hiding their Drakin talents from the world. Over time, Drakin were slowly managing to appear in towns, though they were rarely ever welcomed and looked at with scorn.
For now they had to maintain their clan and watch over the Dragons to hope that there was a brighter future for all of them.
Common Myths and Legends
There is a legend that whilst the impure of blood are able to take the form of humanoids, there's a rumor that one could supposedly achieve the form of a mighty pure blooded dragon for a transformation. This has, however, never been proven and only speculated, and it's been agreed that such practices would only make you a larger target than necessary. Thus, the magic was never researched.

Most humanoids do not trust them, as they believe Drakin to be traitors to mankind, some even going as far as to attack a Drakin in broad daylight, others simply deny them service or rat them out of towns.
They have a deep connection with Dragons, acting as their servants and caretakers in exchange for their power and protection. The practice of becoming a Drakin hasn't been performed in years, however it has never been forgotten.
