Candy Slime

The candy slime is relatively harmless, taking the form of a brightly colored set of ooze that morphs in shape, having their core influenced by a variety of magic. It has a magical spirit inside of it that replaces the need for a brain, the magic spread throughout the body almost like blood, it's capable of moving and perceiving the world around it, however only in rare cases are they capable of cognitive thought rather than instincts and reflexes.

They come in all sorts of sizes, however most times they're rather small in size as they're taken care of before they can grow to a substantial size in most cases. They can come in all sorts of colors and flavors, though it isn't reccomended you devour them, as they're usually quite dirtied as they pick up all sorts of grime in their bodies, thus it's highly unsanitary. Not to mention they can still control their body even when separated, so long as they had enough magic to keep their bodies alive.

They don't have a natural way of reproduction, they're formed by third party sources when excessive magic, usually in the form of a combination of elixirs, come in contact with a vat of candy, or any other sort of liquified form of sweet.

It doesn't grow by age, instead it grows by injesting more substance, whether it be elixirs, similar viscous forms of candy, or sometimes even other candy slimes. Most slimes do not live long enough to grow very large, however there is a recorded exception to this rule.

The only place these candy slimes have been known to inhabit are candy bakeries, and since the market is currently dominated by Sweetside, the best place to find them is their primary factory in cherrywood, primarily in the pipesworks where they can slither around undisturbed, feeding on leftovers.

It needs to consume magic in order to survive, as it fuels off of magic through whatever it can consume. Whilst it can go without candy to survive, devouring sweets will add to it's mass and give it a better survival rate.

Candy slimes do not age, so long as it consumes enough magic to support it's body it can keep living.

The Candy slime usually doesn't have much cognitive thought behind it, it simply lurks through the pipeworks of bakeries, simply trying to sense out magic or sweets it can add to it's body to add to it's mass. As they get more magic in their body, they grow more cognitant. So long as they don't grow too large or too sentient, they pose no threat other than causing workplace messes and general thievery towards sweets and elixirs to try, however more magical slimes will grow more intelligent, capable of growing the instincts to hide from sight.   Whilst they do not feed off of meat, there is concerns that this creature could adapt to larger food sources should it ever gain the chance to become large enough.

They consume other slimes to become a larger mass, when they aren't cognitive enough to perceive being consumed as a threat, as it is actually beneficial for the slimes to merge as one when consumed.

Testing has not yet shown if these creatures can be domesticated or not, one could theoretically keep them in an enclosed space, however there are theories that they'd grow more powerful as they grow over so it's not reccomended.

They're not really used for anything, as they're treated as failed batches of food products.

They don't have any facial features, however there was record of one being capable of shifting it's form to mimic human-like features, however the eyes and mouth physically seemed to melt.

They're restrictively found in Sweetsside's larger bakery

Not very much, their intelligence is dependant on how much magic they can amass and time they've stayed alive.

They sense through magic awareness, the 'core spirit' of the slime detects what's around it, sensing other lifeforms primarily through energy.

They have a parasitic relationship with the bakers of Sweetside, as their creation is dependant on others, and their food supply is dependant on those that cook sweets and make elixirs.

They don't typically have names as they don't have enough intelligence to do so. However those that do have enough cognitive function to perceive such a concept usually adopt names based on concepts they think describe them, or the identity they're trying to achieve.

The few that manage to speak typically speak through Maje, a language of telepathic magic communication where emotions and intentions are expressed between those psionically aware enough to speak it.

Cherryvale's sweetside bakery is the number one outcome of sugary treats and deserts, this was the company to discover candy in this realm, thus it's the closest to a corporate business. However, being the biggest business in Cherryside, it's prone to accidents and corruption. They fiddle with magic elixirs to give magical effects to those who consume their candy, from basic healing to acting as stimulants to strength (there have been concerns raised among parents for the side effects of said effects but those are still being looked into).   However when you run a business as big as being the biggest candy bakery in the world, accidents are bound to happen. Occaisonally, newbies will mix in the wrong arcane ingredients, whether it be by accident, or in some cases corporate sabotage. Most cases, it simply produces a bad batch. However some elixirs react horribly with the candy provided, in rare cases it will result in a candy slime.   Whilst most candy slimes have been dealt with rather quickly, exterminated or contained, some slip through the cracks, usually in harmless small doses. However some of the candy slimes slowly gathered together underneath the pipeworks of the factory, slowly growing in size as they consume candy. Usually these incidents are contained and dealt with, so the public isn't aware of these candy slimes, though there are some that managed to slip into the pipeworks of the bakery.
