Basilisk
Basic Information
Anatomy
Basilisks take the form of a giant snake, often being refered to as a serpent king. They're extremely muscular in , covered in a viscous venom. Those who meet their gaze will be paralyzed.
Biological Traits
They typically reach adulthood at about 14 years of age and live about 80 years. They're capable of temporarily turning whatever makes eye contact with them into stone, roughly fo about a minute before the stone begins to crack. They also emmit a venom from it's body, leading a trail wherever it goes. Oddly enough, weasels, ferrets and chickens are immune to it's stare.

They prefer cavernous systems where they can hide, also enjoying jungle environments where they can find plentiful amounts of prey.

It eats larger animals typically, it does so by temporarily turning whatever makes eye contact with the beast into stone. It then consumes the petrified individuals, swallowing them whole and slowly dijesting the layer of rock around them.

It's skin sheds with time, the shed skin is immune to it's venomous ichor and doesn't petrify with magic.

They tend to be animalistic, preying on whatever they can reach.
