Personal history
Kun Fu Tse came from relativley humble origins. His father was a craftsman and he believed in education and so had his son educated at the local temple. Even during his early years the young boy showed a disdain for chaos, and an admiration for those priests able to keep order in the classroom, It was evident to him that order promoted understanding, disorder led to ignorance.
As an adult he joined the civil service, but was furstrated by its disorderly approach, and sharply critical of incompetent leaders who were promoted through patronage. He left and travelled for a time, observing human endeavour in all roles, from gifted craftsmen to simple labourers, from Noble warriors to humble peasants. He took work as a scribe, copying out manuscripts, a job he did slowly but with meticulous precision. After many years he published a treatise critiquing much of what he had read, greatly upsetting a number of religions and nobles, and garnering thousands of followers who agreed with his attacks against incompetence and injustice.
Seeking to capitalise on the great thinkers popularity the King appointed him to a seior role in the civil service, allowing Kun Fu Tse to reform the system he had hated and chaffed under. The result was a system that was more effective, fairer, but slower and more beuracratic.
Towards the end of his life Kun Fu Tse once again took to wandering Xian Chu Cha, and began writting a new treatise comparing the nation as he saw it now with the one he had seen some forty years ago. He passed away before it could be completed, and there is much debate about whether the copies in circulation today are his own words or those of his students.
Kun Fu Tse leaves behind a legacy of thought that far exceeds his mortal life span, has travelled far beyond Xian Chu Cha, and may yet travel beyond even the borders of Kintai itself.
