Osmond Timmons

Osmond often gets confused as an oaf or buffoon, but he is cunning and street smart beyond most commoners in Breeston. His laugh bounces off the tavern walls and gets most around him to laugh along with him.   He was born in Tanner Square and raised beside his foster brother Julius while their fathers worked the wagons as gong farmers for the city.   Osmund has minimal education, far bettter with numbers than reading and is known for being the tougher of the two as he and Julius wandered the wards for fun.   He was devastated when his father died, relying on Julius to get him through as they tried to earn coin at the docks. They sadly came home one evening to find his mother dead, and shortly after his sister left to become a strumpet. Osmond grew bitter with her sordid choice and never spoke to her again. Often taking his temper on others who would insult him by pummeling them among the back alleys of the outer wards.   He toiled doing thug work for the Ward Bosses, collecting rabble to be arrested for the courts to be sent to the mines. During one errand, the brothers detained a man who was gifted at monarchs, a dice game that the man earned to make coin from petty gambling.   The brothers let him go, helping him hide in the Widow's Wail Ward if he taught them the game. Osmond used the game to get friends in debt and trade them for favors to be collected at a later time. The game brought him joy and he used his bold sense of humor to attract large crowds to gamble   Osmond loved the Widow's Wail, frollicing with many lonely widows as he often helped Lucy collect debts owed to her by the garment merchants in Old Street. Julius once said if they find any lads in a few years going bald before they grew chin hairs, they were probably Osmonds who never turned down a shag no matter the womans looks.   His latest venture got him an apprentice job at an armorer in hopes to learn the trade. Osmond was barely a novice, mostly worked at shoveling coal there and finding rubes to play monarchs with to gain some coppers from their purses.   Osmond was nearly bald before age eighteen, so he grew a thick beard to give him the illusion of being wise. His ignorance is often confused as japes and he gets laughs from many which he uses to get free horns at the taverns they frequent in the evenings.   Once he met Harwin Parsons, he found a mate like him and got him a job at the armory by injuring a fellow coworker, he claims accidently, then promising the armorer to find his replacement.   Osmond had hopes to introduce Harwin into helping him collect debts for the Widows, getting him garments from Lucy as a favor for the many horns Harwin had bought him. His grief for Lucy losing her husband to the mines, makes he and Julius partially responsible for her, and they try to find her customers all the time.   Osmond believes if they finish the job for Peregrine, they can pool their gold and work the inn like a family. He tries constantly to talk Harwin out of being a tosser, and working with them when they return to Breeston.
