Sealed Systems

This is a physical based power.

Effect

This Power allows a Character to sustain himself in any style atmosphere or environment, even those in which the Character could not normally survive. Sealed Systems lasts for a length of time in APs equal to the Character's APs of the Power. Beyond this time, the Power fails and must be Recovered normally.
In addition, a Character with Sealed Systems can add the APs of Power to his RV against gas or radiation attacks.

The Overlap Rule

 
Gadgeteers often integrate Sealed Systems into their supersuits, and sometimes into their Vehicles. In the case of a Character having multiple layers of Sealed Systems between themself and an oncoming attack, only the most relevant single instance of Sealed Systems will apply. Unlike in Team Defense, Gadgets cannot choose to pool their own defensive capabilities to add Resistance Value column shifts. Since Gadgets are meant to replace their user's innate abilities, a worn Gadget cannot combine its Sealed Systems RV boost with its user's innate Sealed Systems RV boost.
This is inspired by the power of the same name on page 49 in the DC Heroes 3rd Edition "White Book".

While this Power has plenty of customization available as a Character defines how they experience the standard model of Shade, upon purchase for Character or Gadget this Power is allowed to pick up one but not both of these Power-specific Limitations:
 

Power Ineffective Against Gas Attacks

 
This Power User has some protection from Radiation attacks, but their protection is air-permeable -- without filtration, which means that gaseous Poison Touch, sleep gas, or other gas attacks will not be resisted by Sealed Systems.
 

Power Ineffective Against Radiation Attacks

 
This Power User has some protection from Gas attacks, but their protection is not molecularly reflective or dense enough to thwart completely nonphysical energy -- which means that Energy Blast, Sonic Beam, Heat Vision, hard radiation bursts, or other radiation attacks will not be resisted by Sealed Systems.
