Cyrtonyx

Cyrtonyx is the equatorial continent on Inanna. Due to its location, much of the continent is dominated by the band of desert that wraps around Inanna's equator. The average daytime temperature in the desert is around 50 degrees Celsius. At night this drops to the high 30s. In places, the desert lowlands rise into forested mountains where it is cool enough to rain. The lowlands of the extreme north and south of the continent are covered in dense forests of colossal Caelum Trees.   The southern forest is known as the Eretis Forest. It is the traditional home of the dark elves, whose civilization evolved in the lightless region beneath the forest's dense canopy. While the Dark Elves now rule the entire continent, they have kept their capital at Saturnia, an ancient city on the dark depths of the forest floor.   The scorching deserts are the traditional home of the Medjerdae elves who long lived as nomadic traders and raiders. The Medjerdae have long since been absorbed into the Eretis Dominion and now live in cities.   The forested mountains were the traditional homes of the Sallei and Phasiana wood elves, but they too have been conquered by the Dominion.
