Trish Barley

Trish was born the third child of Alia & Robin Barley on Valentine's day of all days. From birth she was always fuzzy, had, bad eyesight, and slightly larger than average ears. Her fur was always poking out and making her appear rounder then average. this reason her parents often referred to he as their little fluffle. It wasn't until Trish's third birthday that all of these odd non magical traits received an explanation. On that day Alia & Robin had taken Trish to a nearby nature preserve, with a cave in its premises. Her Father had taken her a little into the cave, because he though she was fluffy enough to be his lil' bat, and turned her gently upside down. Baby Trish seemed to like that laughing, but when her Dad put her to rights he noticed her clothes didn't hang right anymore. Looking into it further they found her baby bat wings. 
This changed a lot of things for the Barley family, as Trish found herself feeling more awake at night. The whole family had to work hard together to find a sense of normalcy with Trish's new nocturnal nature. Her biggest brother had the hardest time, and during the transition often ignored Lil' Trish. But Alia & Robin Barley were not going to let their kids relationship fall apart without active communication. Because of this Trish and both of her brothers are fairly close, and they often game together.
Trish's parents were also ground-bound, and they wanted their daughter to receive the best education for her in the best education environment. So they talked to their friends, and since they lived in New Houston they quickly found the Academy at the Rookery. They were lucky enough that it wasn't too far away from where they lived, so Trish went to school there from early education on. She actively struggled to focus in class not just from her nocturnal nature, but also from not really understanding it. She managed to be average and pass her classes from homework help at home, but never really understood in class until she was put in Mr. Fernus Incendi's Class in 5th grade. He quickly became her favorite teacher, and was able to make it so Trish didn't feel like she was struggling to understand. He made learning fun, like the videogames she played with her brothers. After that he also informed the other teachers about how to 'gameify' their lesson so Trish would be more engaged, and learn more. 
Middleschool had another big step for Trish, new friends. Trish liked meeting new people, so when a kid named Tomas joined their school in 6th grade, she wanted to know everything about him. So she hung around him, and talked to him, and tried to make him feel comfortable around her. To her she didn't think they were friends, until she got so sick she had to be out of school for 3 days. When she came back he was the first person who worried about her, and asked if she was ok. Once she realized that he just showed his friendship a little differently than she did, they were inseparable. They still are, and she has a standing invitation to visit Tomas's Tribe whenever she'd like.
In Highschool she met one, Courier St.Claire, who became her pranking bud, flying rival, and one of he reasons she decided to first dye her hair. Trish actually cycled through a wide variety of colors during highschool, but it was Tomas who found the color she would end up making her signature. He bought her the NEON pink as a joke, he said 'Because you're bright and valentines are pink too'. She liked it so much that it's been her go to when she's not letting her hair rest.
When she started Courier Training she thought it was weird that it was at night, until she learned that she had been given the night course because she'd be joining the Night-Flyers. Which made Trish feel like she'd finally had her needs seen. Trish actually loved the martial aspects of the training, and opted to continue with that after the Training ended. Many new Nocturnal recruits might have seen her as the assistant teacher for their marital classes. 

She likes video games. Competitive arcade games, or games with online leaderboards are her favorites. She enjoys the thrill of competition. She likes Courier, he's interesting and he will try and stay up just to challenge her at games... it makes her feel included. She likes Halloween, and the time around the solstice.
