The Burning Tower

One of the first buildings built in New Houston upon the city's founding, the Burning Tower was originally known simply as The Tower. A beautiful building created entirely by magical means it is the headquarters of the Magic Circle, a group whose founding purpose is to return magic to the world.
  Since the building was created by magic, an artist was employed to design the building rather than an architect. The artist chose to defy what would normally be considered when creating a skyscraper. The building stands 77 floors tall, or 693 meters. This was decided based on the mystical significance of the numbers. It is two towers that twist and twine with one another in a physics defying feat, literally.
  The floors are connected by a staircase as well as a levitation lift, a magical elevator designed specifically for this building. One steps through a doorway into an open shaft, states the floor they wish to reach and ascend or descend magically. It can be very disorienting to step into for those who aren't used to magic because there is no floor or ceiling and you can watch those passing in the same magical shaft. People often prefer the stairs which work more like escalators and do not require people to actually climb them. There is also a magical postal system which allows items to be sent from one location in the building to another.
  The main feature of this building in it's original design was the organic curved exterior of the twin towers. They were enchanted to absorb light during the day and reflect back light into the surrounding area at night. It was nicknamed The Burning Tower. The name's adoption and popularity came much later when the building mysteriously burst into flames one day. The fire was magical in nature and did not consume the building, nor produce any heat. It appeared to be an illusion, but one that did make the building famous.
