Plastic
Plastic that wonderful manmade substance engineered to make life better. It is a wonderful and useful thing in all it's forms and functions. Quiet handy and versatile for people throughout our fair green island of Britain who can find many uses for this most remarkable treasure.
Those with little plots and gardens can use it to create a miniature greenhouse and microenvironment to grow vegetables, fruits and flowers for their homes. Simply wrap sheets around a wooden stakes or wires and use a sheet draped over one end as a door. Your plants will better survive the chill nights and the deprivations of birds.
Similiarly those sleeping rough on the streets can create a temporary shelter in the same manner one might a greenhouse. Or roll themselves inside it for a warm and dry sleeping bag. Those dwelling is council housing can use it as additional insulation or use it as chinking to block out sounds from their neighbors and provide more privacy so that those who put their eyes to keyholes and ears to the walls cannot learn one's secrets.
Plastic also makes for useless alternative clothing. A large plastic bag can be used as a rain coat. One can slip their feet into plastic bags to keep their shoes dry or those without proper shoes can make a pair out of plastic bags. Though some care should be taken to avoid ripping and tearing your freshly made plastic bag shoes.
For those in need, plastic can be used to create defensive tools with which to defend your hearth and home. Wrapped tightly and thinly you can create a plastic cord to use as a garrot either to defend yourself with or as a trap to capture vermin such as rats and other awakened creatures that crawl about the alley ways and dark places our homeless population frequent.
Pitch in and do your bit for Queen and Country. Pick up discarded plastic and put it to a good use. Doing so will make our fair green land a better place, for, as you should always remember, Britain prevails!
