Broom Closets

Paris 2087 Evening edition of Le Parisien being read together by two senior citizens as they sit on the apartment balcony having coffee and cake.   Wife "Darling did you see this article about the poor little girl that was locked inside the Louvre all night?"   Husband, "No dearest, what does it say?"   Wife clearing her thin throat "Apparently this girl, an orphan, came to Paris on her own to see the Mona Lisa. However, she was shoved and pushed about by the mob that always fills that horrible exhibit. Especially by the Asians and Africans." She pauses, "She should consider herself to be lucky that, that is all the happened. Oh they might have pulled her from the Seine like that other girl was last month." she sips her coffee and continues. "However, this poor child was in tears at being unable to see the Mona Lisa due to the crowds. So she sneaked around until she found a broom closet and hide there until after hours. She then snuck back into the Mona Lisa exhibit hall and sat there in the dim light admiring the work. She also sketched a very good copy for herself. But then sometime during the night the poor thing fell asleep. She was found on the floor by the morning staff."   Husband, "What did they do with the girl? Arrest her for wanting to see the art?"   Wife, "Yes they did. The bastards. The girl is from the UCAS, she was taken to their embassy. Oh the poor child. I hope she will be alright."   Husband, "Terrible, just terrible. Poor girl who obviously has the means to come to visit Paris and France, has to deal with the failings of our government. Perhaps it  is time for the police and security forces to expand their purview and take back the streets and public areas near our museums and monuments."   Wife, "Yes I agree, let me send a payment asking for increased police presence. And perhaps something for this poor girl so at least she knows Paris and France are not completely lost."
