Ballhaus Gruenau
Originally built in 1890 in an Art Nouveau style the Ballhaus was a popular place for the advant garde to socialize and enjoy themselves during the evening. Summertime was popular, hosting regattas on the water. Over time this landmark has had a remarkable history.
From the first day of opening, through both World Wars and even through the communist period when Germany was divided, the Ballhaus was a dance hall. Only the music played during this time changed. Unification bought an end to this, the Ballhaus would no longer receive state funding and was left to fall into disrepair.
The building languished for several decades before being purchased by an investor group. After years of planning and debate the building once again stood as a four star restaurant and upscale retirement home for wealthy clients.
Then came the First Euro War. The building was damaged during a shelling. Taken over by the Neo-Soviet scum and used as a field hospital. It was again liberated and had the damages repaired and areas reopened.
It was found that with the passage of time and the events of over a century that the nature of the building and building site changed. When Halley's Comet appeared in the skies in 2061 it became apparent that the building and site were inhabited by the spirits of those who dwelled there or lived there in the past.
The spirits being of all types, for reasons unknown and explained, were able to get along with each other quite nicely. It did not matter which century they represented or the attire they created for themselves to wear. The presence of the spirits added to the ambiance and drew in a large crowd.
Now on starry nights people can see or dance with the spirits through the old hall and enjoy the spectral visions offered underneath the moonlight.
