Waxing and Waning of the Luminant Moon
The twin moons of Taeva have long held sway over the natural forces of the world. However, while the Umbral Moon, Iya, governs natural laws such as the ebb and flow of the tides, the Luminant Moon, Eyr, instead influences the very flow of magic itself, with its strength and stability all throughout Taeva rising and falling with the phases of the moon. Naturally, this has made Eyr one of the most significant stellar bodies to mages throughout Taeva, as its light could reduce even the mightiest of mages to novices, or elevate even the weakest of novices to great heights.
Manifestation
The effects of Eyr's influence can be seen not just in the phases of the moon, but in the state of various magical effects in relation to it (the brightness of the Luminous Tides, for instance). Beyond this, the most obvious effects of the changing phases of Eyr can be seen in the potency of magic, which grows stronger when the moon is waxing, and weaker when it's waning. When the moon is full, magic and its effects are at their zenith, while magical activity becomes much weaker and more infrequent during a new moon. Additionally, it's said that when Eyr is eclipsed, the spellcasting ability of all throughout the world is significantly reduced, while a solar eclipse involving Eyr would instead significantly enhance the spellcasting ability of all mages, as well as increase the likelyhood of aetheric anomalies appearing.
Localization
The effects of the waxing and waning of Eyr can be observed everywhere throughout Taeva, though they are felt most strongly in places with high levels of Aether.
