The Hands of Mercy
While assassins guilds are nothing new in Taeva, the Hands of Mercy are a particularly unique case. Originally beginning life as a group of healers and doctors, the Hands of Mercy follow a strange code of "mercy", being just as likely to save lives as they are to take them, depending on which they believe would save the most lives. Despite their focus on saving lives, as well as the work they've done as healers, many are uncomfortable with their willingness to take lives in the pursuit of their goals, and while this has forced their operations underground, they still remain an influential force throughout the continent of Imera.
Structure
The Merciful draw their membership from a number of medical backgrounds, including surgeons, apothecaries, and toxicologists, all of whom answer to the Grandmaster.
Culture
Like all other healers, the Hands of Mercy hold themselves to a high standard of caring for their charges and safeguarding as many lives as they can, even if they must resort to violence to do so.
Public Agenda
The Hands of Marcy wish to save as many lives as they can, whether it be by treating the sick and injured, or assassinating dangerous individuals to save those under their oppression.

The Hands of Mercy have access to a number of hidden strongholds that they operate out of, as well as access to various pieces of medical equipment and supplies.
History
The Hands of Mercy trace their origins to Libero Sabate, a Navalonian medic who served in the Rose War between Navalonia and Athenor. It was during this conflict that Libero would discover just how transferable his skills as a medic were to the field of assassination, skills which he and a few likeminded fellows used under the pretext of self defence in the field, and eliminating key individuals among the enemy, all with the intention of ending the war quickly and thus sparing further bloodshed. Though the war had ended, Libero and his newly formed Hands of Mercy would continue to ply their skills in both saving and taking lives, with their activities ranging from tending to the sick and injured, to toppling despotic leaders and assassinating key military figures. Despite their largely benevolent aims, many are discomforted by the actions of the Merciful, which goes against the principles of non-violence held by healers throughout Taeva, forcing them to remain underground, though they still remain an influential force throughout the continent of Imera, particularly their homeland of Navalonia and the surrounding regions.
