The Dragonsong
One of the most significant documents of any sort among the Drakai people, the Dragonsong is a collection of stories, songs, and historical records chronicling the long history of the Drakai, their homeland of Dranya, and their dragon masters. With records and stories covering just about every aspect of the Drakai people, from battles won and lost, to stories of the old dragons and their time in the world, to records of noteworthy individuals and what they've done to enrich the Drakai people as a whole, the Dragonsong has become emblematic of the identity of the Drakai, and has solidified its place as one of the most important texts not just in Dranya, but all of Taeva.

Historical Details
Background
It's believed that the Dragonsong was first recorded in the wake of the Clan War, a brutal civil war that threatened to destroy the Drakai, in the hopes that even if the Drakai were to be driven to extinction, or otherwise reduced to a lesser state, something of their history will remain to remind them of who they were, where they came from, and what they've accomplished.
History
The Dragonsong contains the collective history of the Drakai people, in the form of historical records and written works, including stories, sons, and prose.
Public Reaction
When the Dragonsong was first recorded, the Drakai were relieved that even in the event of their destruction following the disappearance of their dragon masters, followed by the brutal Clan War, there will at least be something of them left in the world. Over the years, as more and more records and works were added to the Dragonsong, this relief has turned to reverence, with people continuing to come to the Emperor/Empress to request what works can be added to this ever-expanding text today.
Legacy
The Dragonsong remains one of the most important texts in Drakai culture, and is used by historians, artists, playwrights, poets, and authors throughout Dranya as the basis for any of their works that cover the events and people recorded within.
