I listen to song stones in the ruins of Mec Ales and meet the ghost of Nucifera, the first fatespinner, in the Dreaming. She tells me of her great working to prevent elves from joining the Ingan. I work to connect to the Trees of Leaf and Vine and find myself rebuffed and threatened as they try to rip the Empress out of me even when I feel them respond. We pause in Solace and receive letters from across the Barrier to everyone's surprise. The Empress bids me visit in Deldrin to rethink my name and position. The shining city has awoken after the storm and elves are held in higher regard than ever. The library itself has activated wards and regained some form of sentience that makes it harder to traverse but Kaide and I enter with the help of Mayfa, a baker. Inside we find Dedrafel and Cycadaes, our shared ancestor, who remembers the time before the Empress rose.
