Royal Chef from Dal
Heiassa,
I promised I'd write didn't I? Sorry it wasn't sooner, it's taken a bit to mend enough to be comfortable with pen in hand. This little brother Bran that Thalien found for us is quite the fellow isn't he? Honestly, I'm glad of him. He's been helping me recover beyond knitting flesh and bone - as a sparring partner, I feel like he's decided to reforge me, well beyond just rehab. It's good. It's been a long while since I was truly pushed like this. For the next bit, I'm sticking with him, the young 'saint' Nina and the rest on their way to visit Nina's parents.
That girl is carrying heavy expectations - from the way Torrick tells it, her fight through the winter storm was nothing less than any of us would have faced on the front lines against the Collective. I wish I could help her more. She and Torrick are poised to become rulers in a way neither of them has thought of.
Bran says that after the wedding, he's headed south. He also says that I should spend at least a few more months in the care of a propper healer. You know him better than I do - can I trust him to make his way alone or is he going to get swept into trouble like Thalien? If you think he'll be fine alone, I think I'll hang back with Nina and Torrick. Spending some time playing royal chef feels like a good way to stick close enough to make sure they're asking themselves the right questions over the coming months.
Take care of yourself, eat your veggies.
