Politics to Andstella
Sister,
I think you have the hardest job of all of us. All our other Outlands leaders have the freedom to build from scratch and you've gotten mired in court politics. There is something so ridiculous about a short-lived race endlessly dithering and hoping someone else solves a problem. Shouldn't they be the fastest to the table with a solution? Why waste time?
I'm so proud of both you and Dawn. The two of you are doing just the right thing, attacking the problem from two angles. I'm glad you have one another. This work is terribly lonely without family beside you. The bright side is that the longer you do it, the more family sneaks up on you.
Magdalena will arrive soon and I'll see if I can drag out any visions of the miraculous places she travelled. I'm so looking forward to family holidays. Her, you, Jaeril, Liliales...whoever else wakes up feeling like family.
When do you next sleep? I don't recall how long you'd been awake when I crashed into the Dreaming and decided to bleed all over our tree.
Look at these little ones! We have just landed in the Crystal Spires and the place is crawling with young Osyr. They're at least 6 feet tall and all arms, so rambunctious. I'm sure all the adults are eagerly anticipating the next batch of parents waking but it will take a few months.
I once told Camellia that I didn't think I'd have children because I sort of felt like the Empress was using me as a nanny for the entire elvish people. Now I have a son, a niece, and also the responsibility over the Empire itself. While we were in Deldrin she named me as our Imperator and endowed me with the duty of guarding our people from everything including herself. Despite the change in title...it hardly feels like a change to my work. I suppose that's how it should be. You would be shepherding Dreamfall even if you weren't our mighty Arborist.
I miss your starlight laugh.
Heiassa
