One World to Tira

Beloved student, erstwhile daughter of the noble house of Al'moor, master of contingencies, first Dragon rider of the millennia and hand to the Fifth Hand of the Empress in whose shade we shelter,   You make me laugh.   I'm glad Hella will have some time in Whitewater. Of course if I am somewhere safe I will let you know; I'd love to see you. I'm eager for you to meet Amytri! Along with another human mage I've met in the North I think we have the beginnings of a very productive research group here. Anna has been working on a magical illusion with its own force of will. I'm working on something similar with a dream instead of a force of will - I wonder if you might combine the two and give an illusion a sense of purpose contingent upon a dream. Here are my notes from my work with Anna. I've found it critical to have some magical theory work that is not directly in the service of our mission here - the mind needs distraction.   Certainly there is something missing between you and Haze. Basalt seemed willing to speak on the matter of dragons and riders when I met her at Afan. Perhaps you could seek her out if she has crossed the Barrier again. She also remarked on an elvish rider who never visits the Kindred anymore. It would not be inappropriate for you to seek that person out and you ought to appeal to the Empress herself for this. I suspect you will be called to give her a report regardless as you deliver Hella and Kadia to her.   Haze is young. It feels ridiculous to say such a thing but in the history of dragons and elves I have to imagine that he is just as unaware as we are. If I were in a position to advise him I would tell him to seek out elders amongst his people just as I tell you to seek out the eldest of our people. Being that I am not in a position to offer him advice, I will tell you instead.   Andstella is indeed not part of our family - it is natural that she would not feel connected to Doraal or even to the rest of our house. She is part of a separate family I share with Magdalena. Consider her as outer family to you but inner family to me if it helps place her. As much as I consider myself to be wholly fae and elvish I can see that it is not as simple to implement - I hope you and she are able to bond a bit. She is a talented wizard and will need to throw herself into politics in a way I have been able to avoid. She could use your experience on that front.   For both of us with one foot in each world, it is necessary to keep the goal in sharp focus: One world, united. Have courage that in a century people will look at our blended families and see the first of an unbroken line of love between people long separated.   All my love, Heiassa
