Arrived from Magdalena

Heiassa,   Look at me, keeping promises. Checking in. I made it here. The Pinnacle of Heaven. Grandiose name isn’t it? I’ve enclosed another Seeing Stone - that big lake in the middle is the Heaven Gazing Pool. When you’ve looked, make sure Kaide gets to see it and tell her I’m sorry for never bringing her here. It’s not an entirely safe place for Ossyr - maybe now that she wears the semblance of an elf, I can make up for what I never did back then. In the whole of this world, there is no water more pure than the water of the Heaven Gazing Pool. Even her other half could learn much from being able to experience it.   I’ve traded one set of dangers for another and I’m afraid that the injuries I sustained getting here make it actively difficult to move around freely in this place. There aren’t many people here who still owe me enough of a debt to make this easy. I’m staying with the great grand nephew of a palace master I once traded magic with. Thankfully, the value of magic increases with age - Xaneer is weak enough to need my help, and connected enough to be of use to me. It isn’t ideal, but I have the beginnings of a plan.   We’re in luck, the item I’m here for, the Star Crystal Lotus only forms at the bottom of the Heaven Gazing Pool every thousand years or so. There are currently three in circulation - it’s a rare treasure and using it is difficult enough that those who possess it may spend generations acquiring the rest of what they need. I just need to find someone who’s held on to one of them long enough to have given up on achieving whatever purpose they had for it and to see value in what I can offer them in exchange. I hope it won’t take long.   Write soon. Tell me how you are, how Andstella is and how Kaide is doing. The trip wasn’t easy for me. I bled enough to have genuine fear. For the first time in an age, I was worried I wouldn’t see my family again.   Be well little one, take care of the rest of our little family
The seeing stone reveals a city nestled into a crater at the summit of a massive mountain. At the center, a deep and crystal blue lake. All up the slopes of the crater are gleaming palace like buildings carved of polished marble and quartz crystals. Pyramid style roofs dominate, each one in silvers and gold tones, polished bright enough to act as mirrors. Angular crystal obelisks dot the landscape and lush gardens fill the space between palaces. The mountain is so impossibly high up that outside the crater there's nothing but a seemingly endless sea of clouds. Breathtaking is an understatement.
