Afan

History

Afan is a place with its own inherent magic regardless of what people have wrought. Similarly to Council Rock it empowers magic of binding but in a different way. The magic here might help bind a person so completely that even death couldn't take them if they had bound themselves beyond it. The compulsion that might be bestowed with this magic is so strong that it would change a person's behaviour, for better or for worse.   The Empress studied the inherent magic here in order to produce the rite used to bind the entire elvish people in the moment and forever. It is also the basis for how the Ventarri were chained to the Empress and the dwarves to the Ventarri.  

Exterior

A small canyon with sheer rock faces leads to a small cavern at one end. Narrow paths can be traversed with little difficulty to reach the bottom.  

Interior

The inside of the cavern spans just a few chambers - enough for a simple lifestyle. The focus of the large central chamber are the runes inscribed in the Osyr language. Arcane mathematics and logic is traced out over these ancient walls, describing how to bind an entire race of people using a combination of blood magic and the inherent magic of Afan.
