A Person in Two Worlds from Tira
Teacher,
I've departed for the north with Haze and your sister Andstella. I confess, she makes me uncomfortable in a way that Bran and Hella never did. She refers to you intimately as a sister should, but without acknowledgement of Doraal as a brother or awareness of your role as the head of our family. She feels curious about the rest of our family and at the same time, somewhat removed from it. I understand that the bond you have with her is different, and yet, I find myself discomforted by it.
It makes me reflect on my own relationship with Haze, his clan, and the kindred. More, it makes me feel like there's some kind of step I haven't taken. Something missing as a person in two worlds - compared to the way you have become both elf and fae, my own connections to dragon kind feel a bit ephemeral. Haze called the notion nonsense, but things you've mentioned about dragons and riders... there's something there that I believe I must discover.
Once we finish this errand, Hella, Kadia and I will make our way to your friend Amytri. We have all spent time pondering and discussing this unfreezing see he describes - we intend to survey the sea from the air and I imagine Amytri will be delighted by the ability to do so.
Separately, I've been talking to Alder and Knotrael, as well as Kadia and Hella. Once we finish with Amytri, it'll be time to pass through Hella's home to say some goodbyes before we make a break across the barrier. Before we leave, if you're able to let me know where you are, I'd like to spend a few days with you before we go. Last time, when you crossed the barrier, my heart ached for the magic Alwen and I had wrought with you. This time, goodbye should be better. Alder and Knotrael both send their love, with mine as well.
Your eternal apprentice and your hand,
Tira
