Creation of the World

The Era Before Time

The world once was a lifeless rock roaming without aim or intent. Unchecked and unimpeded, the world hurtled through the Verse. Yet there came to this rock seven conrasu, elements of the cosmos with consciousness secured within their exoskeletons. These conrasu worked together to make the rock a habitable world that they would fill with life.

Forming the Verse

Valenta, the leading member of the conrasu, gathered the others to her so that they could work together and form life. She cast about with her consciousness and froze the lifeless rock in time and space. Then she imbued the rock with her essence that it may meld with the abilities of the other conrasu.   With the world receptive to more manipulation, Sarithane and Lerasha joined hands to suffuse the rock with Water and Air. Their efforts flooded the craters and canyons with crystal blue seas, all manipulated by the constant breeze to form life-bearing climates. The air itself became rich with the necessary elements for living creatures to breathe.   Luchus and Seidon began their labors then, combining the powers of Earth and Fire to mold the lands into continents and islands. Luchus spread across the nascent world green growth and empowered it to spread wild and free. At the same time, Seidon delved into the depths of the rock and poured molten flames into the world’s core, radiating heat and enabling the rock to rotate of its own volition.   Yet the seas did not accommodate the lands that were formed, and the hearts of the conrasu grew heavy. Yet Oseir and Nemena discovered a solution that would maintain a balance between the elements. The meticulous conrasu drew forth a star and set it at a safe distance from the world, radiating heat and applying pressure on the rampant seas. In turn, Nemena tore a piece from the world and polished it bright, setting it in place near the world. The forces these two elements placed upon the world calmed the seas and made them manageable, while also bathing the world in light.   At last Valenta released the world from its halted state. As it rotated and began to trace a path around the blazing star, she inhaled and breathed out a magic-filled breath that filled the land with magic. And lo, upon the world there grew the first signs of life, and the conrasu were gladdened to see their efforts succeed.

The Domains of the Verse

And yet the conrasu did not consider their task complete. Although the world was made and it teemed with magic-empowered life, they knew that the Verse would crumble without guidance. And so they wove threads like a tapestry into the Verse, forming laws to guide the fledgling world on its path.   And though many wanted to create the Verse with all their being, it was Valenta who dissuaded them. “This world is all of ours,” she said to her companions, “and we must all share the burden of guiding it forward. And we shall become the Prime Deities of this world.” And the others agreed, and together they each chose five Domains that they would master and control, except for Valenta, who claimed a sixth, and all agreed that this was right.   Yet Nemena, the jealous sister of Valenta, did not like the shadow cast upon her by the conrasu leader. In secret, she wove a sixth thread that she slipped into the weave, one that outlined rules for what should happen when life ceased. None noticed until the tapestry was complete, and then they were disheartened to see the trick. With no way to unravel the Verse, they settled it around the world, bringing order to chaos.
