Fears herself, Hates her dreams, Loves her Blood God. Aslaug Tolefsdatter is a human cleric of the blood domain. From the southern region of Janheim, she grew up in a village called Mijola. She was once a fledgling of the Hand of Ubris, married to a high priest who abused her. It was an arranged union for power but not hers. He was violent, loveless, healing the wounds he inflicted on her to save face with her father and the ignorant world around her. Hope seemed lost, she wanted to die. She killed her husband every night in her dreams and when she closed her eyes. She killed them all. Finally, Luck looked kindly at her… Two powerful vampires attacked the temple, slaughtering all of the priests. Though, before they took her husband’s life, she slit his throat herself and fell to her knees, his blood cupped in her hands as an offering to them. They quickly vanished leaving her hands empty. She fled the town, a criminal, a wanderer. The nightmare was over but her dreams never failed to remind her. Blood, death, destruction, were her only consolation. She searched for the vampires that freed her and when at last she discovered a vampire, it nearly killed her. She was revived by a fast friend and in her misery, angry and distrubed, she revealed her past to him. He knew of the vampires that liberated her. The Blood Prince and his Queen possessed an eternal love for one another and as it was told, and she could attest, they were merciful. Her friend guided her to seek out their lore in a place called Ravengrave. Aslaug discovered a great following of the Blood Gods in Ravengrave and she vowed her service, her life to them.
