Cathedral of the Lost

One of the more prominent churches dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, Phoenicia, the Cathedral of the Lost is an immense space, built to be welcoming to all and to provide aid to those most in need.

Purpose / Function

The Cathedral Of the Lost is not only built as a means to give prayer to the Sixth of Six Sisters, Phoenicia, but also a means to live out her goals and most cherished aspects.

Goddess of Children, The Cathedral of the Lost contains a large orphanage where dozens of children are cared for, with hopes that the congregation will adopt them. The children are also well educated by the Sisters of the Church, and at times by its own reverend, the Deacon Ferghus Doolyn.

The Cathedral grounds also includes dormitories for the clergy to live in and care for themselves. So as to not give the impression of a priveleged, noble life, and to better manage off funds granted by the donated believers, the clergy live an unglamorous life of small rooms with basic accomodations.

Architecture

The Cathedral is impressive in it's scale and sophistication, both against other religious grounds in the city, and especially against other churches or cathedrals in the Phoenician Church. The Goddess of Mercy and Children, Sixth of Six Sisters, does not ask for much materially from the mortals of T'sara.   The Cathedral proper is an immense, two story building of darkened stone with high archways. Some have claimed that it was designed by an apostle of the God Zaljir, perfectly honed to the sound of prayers, to encourage the congregations to sing their hyms with greater dedication.

Defenses

Thick walls around the immense campus of the Cathedral are more reminiscent of a palace or fort than of a house of worship. None of the current clergy can give any answers as to why it was built this way. Best guess, the high, strong stone walls offer a means of privacy that works both ways. The outside world cannot know what goes on inside the Cathedral without first venturing to step foot, and the clergy and congregation cannot be distracted from their holy obligations by whatever may be going on in the city at the moment.
