Templar Eldyria
The Divine branch of Elderian government and culture alike, the Church of Elderia has lasted as long as the country itself, albeit in a variety of forms and practices. Serving as both the authority for religious matters and the source of the Royal Family’s divine right to rule within Elderia, the Church is the driving force behind the Great Crusade, as well as the many related conflicts made in its name. In modern times, having shifted their worship to that of Typhan, the Church of Elderia struggles to rein in rogue churches, cults, and other religious factions that have sprung up during the Dark Ages prior to his return.

Faction Signifier
Ordained Necklace
A simple necklace consisting of a chain and the Holy Symbol of Typhan, wrought in white silver. Enchanted against accidental damage, it is believed among practitioners of the Elderian faith to bestow some amount of protection from the Church’s deities, safeguarding their chosen against the falsehoods and deceptions of heretics. Templars indicate their rank through polished metal beads on the chain, with up to three silver beads on one side indicating Templars to Templar Crusaders, and special rank beads on the other side of the symbol. This is a non-attunement item and cannot be upgraded, or enhanced. Choose one of the following four effects when first equipping this item. Once chosen, this can only be changed on ranking up.- Blessing of Elderia: Once per Long rest, as a bonus action, you can invoke the blessing of elderia and for the next minute, up to three creatures chosen(yourself permitted) can add a d4 to any attack roll or saving throw. A roll may only be affected by Blessing of Elderia or Bless, not both. The amount of uses per long rest scales with your faction rank, and at rank 4, you can even choose up to 5 creatures(yourself permitted).
- Divine Force: You can use this feature once, regaining spent uses after completing a Long Rest. You can roll a number of d6s equal to your Proficiency Bonus and add the results as Radiant Damage to a damage roll from an attack or spell originating from you. One will be supervised under a seeker who will ask them to prove their self independence and capabilities to root out and wipe away evil, either uncovering a conspiracy, discovering deadly secrets and showing they have the will to do anything in the name of Typhan. An example of a mission would be uncovering a secret cultist conspiracy happening and to root out all roots, no matter what steps must be taken, no matter what bodies have to be burned.Templar Adept
They will be supervised under a templar adept who will guide them to a task involving the arcane, showing their prowess in magical capabilities and using their arcanic powers to root out evil. For example, while it might step into Tyorus Academy's shadow, they could be sent on a mission to root out and uncover a magical event that has roots in an evil necromancer.Templar Chaplain
Their journey will be under a chaplain whose mission will be to prove their religious fervor, their faith is unbreakable and second to none other than the grandmaster. Their mission could involve spreading the name of typhan, educating the masses or cleansing the unclean of those who speak his name in filth or recovering a holy artifact of typhanTemplar Master
Their journey is rooted back to their leadership capabilities, they are not the most frontline, nor are they are the strongest in hand to hand combats, nor are they are the most fervor but what they have is leadership, coordination, logistical abilities, and hence under a templar master, they will be leading men, coordinating missions. For example a mission could include being given several companies, and one must ensure all is running smoothly to ensure the fortress of a villain is destroyed, while supplies never stop running and men are constantly being fed with clean food.Higher Ranks and Grandmaster
One has now taken a position of considerable influence in the templar elderia, one has influence and power but recognition, fame can only go up as one continues to work for the templars, additional titles can be given and more responsibility can be awarded to players based on rp and consistent contributions to the templar elyderia. For example titles like lord inquisitors, one who commands who inquisitors, and more. For one to become grandmaster, is a fate no one outside the templars knows.Goals
- Safeguard Elderia and its territories from the influence of false gods, cults, and other influences.
- Preach the values of the Church, and convert others to it.
- Identify, investigate, and destroy heresy within Elderian land.
- Gather strength and readiness for the next Great Crusade, to expand the reach of the Elderian Church throughout unenlightened places.
Tenets
- The Church declares faiths worshiping Patrons, Evil Gods, or mortal individuals to be False Faiths.
- The Church declares violations of the Tenets or performing a Taboo to be Heresy.
- Offer those who are not directly committing heresy or worshiping false faiths the option to convert and take the Church into their hearts. Respect their faith if they choose not to.
- Offer one final chance to return to the Church to those who already know of the faith but choose to worship false faiths or commit heresy.
- Crush those who have abandoned their faith twice - their repentance is in death.
- Suffer not the Cursed to live - Atone all infested by Vampirism or Lycanthropy through death.
Fees
- Members of the Church of Elderia are expected to help fund it, tithing annually. Every Upkeep after joining the faction, a member must provide 50gp per Rank they have achieved within the faction to maintain membership. Instead of gold, they can instead also convert 1 Influence to 25GP, so instead of 600 gold, they can instead pay 24 elderian or templar influence. Failure to do so results in the loss of faction benefits until paid, and removal from the faction (and all associated ranks) if another upkeep passes without payment.
