The house of Armin was one of minor nobility within Karstein for generations before the city was incorporated into the larger Berusian whole. Through their many years of service before and since then the various members of the line have held a variety of public offices and served in the lower house in Karstein. When the vampire lords assumed control of Berusia, they were one of many families that were quick to throw their lot in with them in hopes of ascending from their mediocrity as lesser nobles. Ultimately they would gain very little from this deal and when the vampiric rule was shattered by the Elderians three centuries later anything they had gained was lost.
The current head, Vesela, has done much to try and rebuild the image of her family since her ascension. Their status as lesser nobles had been compromised for their complicit acts with the vampire lords but secret caches of wealth had allowed them to remain relevant regardless of this. Vesela has invested much of that remaining wealth in her efforts, contributing to monster hunting factions and rebuilding efforts focused in the heartlands of Berusia. These efforts have proved successful enough and with the help of extra political funding she even managed to gather enough votes to be elected Primar General of Karstein.

Motivation
The lord of house Armin is motivated by her desire to restore the honour and status of her noble house. She also possesses a strong distaste for foreigners, specifically those wishing to impose some kind of control over Karstein, be it militarily or economically.
Vesela is a hardworking individual and unlike most nobles is more than willing to get her hands dirty doing hard work. She has spent most of her life in Berusia and has committed herself to Napalis and is a strong believer in the ideals espoused by the church. She also believes that the Elderian presence within Berusia is no longer needed, often championing the inquisitors finally being allowed to return to their homes.

Vesela’s goals are to use her funds and political capital to affect positive change in Berusia to improve the opinion of her house amongst the other noble families and the common folk.
