Duke Vasily Agethus Danyik
Vasily comes from the famous line of Dukes that once united Berusia under a single banner. The same line of Dukes that would have their names disgraced as that unification was brought about by vampiric influence. Vampires that would then seize control of the empire that the Dayniks had created to enforce a state of constant fear and terror within the common folk of Berusia. Vasily is the latest of these Dukes who seeks to right the wrongs caused by his ancestors long ago, and with a righteous fury behind him.
Born and raised in the city of Dancya, Vasily was given a fairly typical noble upbringing. He was educated by renowned tutors from within the duchy and others from Elderia to the west. Much of this education focused on religious teachings practiced in both areas and knowledge pertaining to the vampiric threat. He was taught that to allow any such influence or corruption was the greatest of crimes within Dancya, and that he should seek to root it out no matter the cost. This form of education was common within the royal Danyik line ever since the expulsion of the vampires hundreds of years prior.
Upon reaching the age of majority, Vasily took it upon himself to formally enter the service of the Church of the New Dawn. Here his religious education expanded and he was formally named a paladin of the order. His service would be at the head of a host of holy knights who, in their role as enforcers of the church, would lead many purges on heretics. Even at the behest of the Duke himself would Vasily’s host investigate those suspected of sacrilegious crimes and often executed for their violations of Dancyian law. These actions earned him a reputation not dissimilar to many of those within his dynasty. Someone would be unforgiving and unrelenting in enforcing the royal, and now holy, will.
Vasily would officially become the Duke of Dancya on his 34th birthday when his father died of natural causes at the age of 66.

Motivation
Vasily is motivated by a strong religious fervor and disdain for the undead. The influence the vampires had on his family in centuries past he believes, must be paid back tenfold. He sees anyone who lies or betrays him in a similar light, deeming them enemies of Dancya and quickly working to their imprisonment or execution.

Raised much like his predecessors, Vasily possesses a harsh and unforgiving personality. This often brings him conflict with his subjects as he tends to favor more extreme options for law and punishment of the violation of said law. He is generally quick to act and hot tempered, taking things at face value rather than preferring thorough investigation.
The Dancyan duke wishes to cleanse the undead taint from Berusia and if possible, beyond.
