Arcanastra
The Arcanastra are revered within Calbesh, as the grand school of the arcane and bardic arts. Any who wish to perform at the great halls of music within Troubadour, to enter into the Battle of Skalds, or practice the arcane magics within Calbesh, must first go through the Arcanastra. All citizens and outsiders of Calbesh are required to attain a badge of adherence before they are legally allowed to cast arcane spells. Although the border towns are less strict on this law, often looking the other way or outright ignoring this rule.
Prerequisite
To gain a Badge of Adherence for non-members- You must pay a small fee of 500gp, and fill out a large stack of paperwork detailing your current place of residence, the duration of your stay within the country, your favored school of magic, the highest circle of magic you are able to cast, your name, your birth date, your birth place, any allegiances to guilds/nations/or otherwise you possess, and the list goes on with similar questions. The fee is sometimes waved depending on the current arch mage, abundance of funds, connections to the college, and so on.
- Ability to cast arcane spells or passing a typical examination that includes arcane theory or musical theory (DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) or Intelligence (Performance) check, respectively.)
- A Templar must possess the Mage Slayer feat.
- Payment towards the college equaling 250gp for a Practitioner, this fee is waved for Templar.

Choose one of the two equipment sets:- Arcanastrum Pin, Scholarly Robes, Badge of Adherence, Spellcasting Focus, Book: The Spheres of Magic; an Introduction.
- Arcanastrum Pin, Arcanastra Tabard, Badge of Adherence (if arcane caster), Book: Templar's Codex.
Faction Benefits
- Arcane Student: The character gains access to one wizard or bard cantrip of their choice, their spellcasting ability for this spell is Intelligence or Charisma, once this is chosen it cannot be changed. The character may cast this cantrip as long as they wear their faction signifier, even if they do not possess the spellcasting feature.
- Attribute Cap Increase: +2 Intelligence or Charisma; This boosts the maximum of an ability score, but not the score itself.
Tool Proficiencies: 1 Musical Instrument or Artisan Tool of your choice.
Faction Signifier
Arcanastrum Pin: Cloak Clasp - This magic cloak clasp marks you as a member of the Arcanastra, but more than that it empowers you, enabling you to exceed expectations in the arcane arts. The arcanastrum pin is a silver pin delicately inlaid with golden weave that flows with magical energy, the top of the pin reaches up like two raised hands that hold a gem--the gem denotes the members rank--in order from lowest to highest; Agate, Garnet, Amethyst, Topaz, Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond. The clasp provides the character wearing it one of four benefits, once chosen this choice cannot be reversed.- The character can cast one additional 1st level spell per long rest while they are wearing this clasp. If removed the wearer must wait twenty-four hours after putting the clasp back on before they gain this additional spell slot back
- The character increases their maximum Sorcery Points or Bardic Inspirations by one for as long as this clasp is worn.
- The character increases the DC of their spells from one school of their choice, by one for as long as this clasp is worn.
- The character increases their Intelligence or Charisma score by one for as long as this clasp is worn; this does not stack with other magic items that increase either of these ability scores.

Tenets
- The willing creation and animating of the undead is abhorrent and cannot be tolerated, turn necromancers that seek to raise death to the side of creation, if unable stamp out the blotch on Calbesh so that no one else will feel what once transpired.
- Pursue magic and knowledge, but stray not from that path of creation into the forbidden arts.
- Safeguard the secrets of the realm, maintain order and silence thoughts that would bring about chaos.
- Do not harm innocent citizens of Calbesh, your magic is a weapon and careless action can cause more hurt than to just yourself.
- Heed your elders, but remain vigilant. The wisdom of age and station has shown them much, but even the wise can be blind.
Fees
Membership within the Arcanastra is not free. To maintain membership requires an annual fee of 500gp per rank the member has attained. Agate rank (students) pay an additional fee of 100gp per semester they stay on campus within the dorms.Through magic, unity.
