Dwarf

Carved from unyielding rock by their divine creator Gnómbarag, these short but stout beings of semi-human figure aspire to uphold law and order in any land they choose to settle. They make their homes most commonly deep underground, but some of them choose to live among humans and halflings in towns and cities. Dwarves value adherence to tradition over all and will never go back on their word.   Dwarves are a common race, second only to humans, if civilized races are concerned, and one of the oldest ones in the world. They were created early in what the arcanites of Celotene consider The First Awakening, they became fast allies with humans across the realms.   Dwarves are innately magical creatures, though this does not usually manifest as an aptitude in spellcraft. Dwarves are almost supernaturally resilient, being resistant against most poisons and having a considerable lifespan. Some dwarves are capable of sorcery, though eccentric to begin with, these dwarves slowly lose grip with reality as they actively seek to alter it with magic. Any spellcaster living in a dwarfhold is forbidden from using magic outside of stoneshifting, having been proven the only school of magic that is consistently safe for a dwarf to use. Dwarves using divine- or primal magic are anomalies, and often shunned by their peers.
