Ghoblyn Lore
Like the Elves, Gnomes and Dwarves the first Goblins was created by the Godsborn from fey spirits. Unlike the others however Goblins were forged for strictly for war their mortal bodies strong and healthy, their spirits aggressive, predatory and cruel. While all of the first races would come to wage war alongside their creators against the titans the goblins would find little purpose outside of combat or killing. Even when not engaged in war they found killing and cruelty brought calm and joy to them that peace never could. They were born of darkness meant to hunt and kill in shadows eyes not made to endure the light of day.
When the war of the Gods ended god and titan alike left the world for the heavens and the mortal age began. The races would come together and agree to give who ever crafted a fine crown the name of king of all. The Goblins however knew this was unfair as they had not been created from the same spirits or with the same understanding of beauty as the gods other mortal races. So With the great weapons and armor of their divine masters gone the goblins set to doing what they knew and were good at. They made weapons, armor and killing tools planing to slay the other mortal races and make themselves dominate.
The Attack was sudden and brutal but the goblins could not fathom that the other races would put aside their differences and work together such thoughts were alien to the first goblins minds. The Goblins were beaten and the elves and gnomes demanded mercy, the dwarves had offered the mercy of death and it is said the goblins had asked for this. Instead the goblins were banished to the wastes at the edge of their known world.
Here the Ghoblyn Kingdom would be built, not amid the rugged badlands but in the dark caverns and yawning earth below. In the ages that passed they fostered their hatred and spite for the other races. Mastered dark magic and twisted sciences fueled by their hearts longing to inflict pain, take revenge, consume and destroy. Here in the dark caves they taught their descendents to hate and to embrace ambition and lust for power. For a thousand year they prepared for war, a war intended to erase elf, gnome and dwarf from the face of the world even willing to ally with their former foes the giants, such was their hatred for the other children of the Gods.
Creations of the goblins
Orc The Oraki were created by the Ghoblyns to bolster their numbers the project was a joint operation between the cults to create the perfect killing machine. Ghoblyn Blood was mixed with human slaves and some say boars to shape the body of the Oraki. A body built for strength and combat. However the Ghoblyn lords most vile work was in the preparation of the Soul of the Oraki,
The spirits of the Oraki were torn from the human women who died giving birth to the Oraki and the husbands and fathers who were forced to watch the process were also torn free and cast into the swirling vortex of tortured souls. With the dead still in agony and full of fury from the evils they witnessed before death the goblins bombarbed the spirits with of the men with visions of dwarves and elves causing inflicting all manner of terrible rage inducing acts upon them. The souls meant for the female Oraki however were sent visions of service, fear of males and images of dwarves and elves being the ones to kill their children. The Dark Judge then cleansed memory from the souls leaving the deep painful emotional imprints upon the souls. With the Orc Soul made a corrupt, hate fueled, lustful for violence and naturally urged to hate elf and dwarf the Oraki were ready to serve.
Ogre Using Giant Blood and humans the Ghoblyns took it upon themselves to create a larger, hardier breed of slave also a less intelligent one for great intellect would have made them too dangerous. Named Ogres by the human slaves the Ghoblyns took the name for lack of a better one. Like the Oraki the bodies were first made and designed for power, toughness and limited higher thinking. Like the Oraki Their souls were ripped from human slaves. In this case rather than the tormented they sought out the most deranged, depraved and debased of their human servants. Cannibals, serial killers and those who took pleasure in acts of extreme physical violence were scoured until only their most depraved and violent urges remained before their souls were placed into the bodys of the first Ogres.
Troll The first trolls, the oldest trolls were the fey like hidden trolls and primal mountain trolls who emigrated from the fey world long ago, these creatures of the forest and mountains were too powerful to enslave and disliked the wicked Ghoblyns. However the Goblins could not deny the usefulness of troll kind to that end their armies managed to kill a mountain troll and its body was given to the fire cast. Using the body they would engineer their own trolls smaller and easier to manage they were named the Trul-Kar (New Troll in old Goblin) and were designed to adapt and change rapidly to dominate their environments. Rather than use the corrupted souls of men dark rituals reached into the first world and called fourth dark spirits of the hunt and painfully fused them with abyssal spirits of hunger. The result were the eternally savage, hungry and terrifyingly adaptable Trul-Kar. The unloved cousins of the Huldra Troll and Mountain Trolls.
Worg Once mere wolves who lived in the wastes the first worg were an experiment of the Fire Cult. Wanting to see if their flesh sculpting and soul shaping could be used to alter animals. The worgs were crafted to be aestheicaly pleasing to the Ghoblyns and the animals spirits programed to be naturally favorable to goblin kind as well as being fused with the souls of Servitude cult Ghoblyn children to make them ideal companions. Supposedly there was once a large variety of these early worg with the common worg and winterwolf being the most well known types.
Goblin Dog One of the less impressive creations of the Ghoblyns the Goblin Dog or Urath in their tongue were originally a species of aggressive giant rodent that lived in the caverns they called home. The Ghoblyns soon bonded with the species and overtime breed them as companions in the past the old goblins breed many variations and breed of Goblin Dog though after their fall only the mongrel goblin rats we know today are thought to have survived.
Goblin Snake The Naga were a curiosity to the Ghoblyns who often encountered them underground and they were not spared experimentation upon by the fire cast. The result were the creatures refered to as goblin snakes.
Grindylow Created as an aquatic shock troop the Grindylow are a nightmarish fusion of goblin and octopus.
