Morris was the type of guy who would shy away from the spotlight. He grew up scrawny and didn't think highly of himself, which was weird because his family was tall and brawny. So people generally looked at him with confusion in comparison, so any further attention he got, he just assumed would be negative. Things didn't change much when he got to high school either, he didn't have anything going for him that made him stand out. People weren't thrilled about his humor or memes, his style was just ok, wasn't really an athlete and his social media was skippable. So he couldn't believe his luck when he met his girlfriend Tina, who he thought was out of his league.

  He never really told her or anyone else about his powers though. He had a weird inconsistent power that could make him about as strong as his dad, sometimes a bit more or less. But it was never superhuman worthy, and that just added to his negative self-esteem. But Tina liked him without powers, so he saw that as a small win. As things progressed in their relationship, they felt comfortable with Morris losing his virginity to her. Which pretty much changed the trajectory of his life.

  The thing about Tina is she switched from another school, where she was known as the fat girl who broke the bleachers. She couldn't deal with the laughter anymore and just stopped attending. But she also started buying weird weight loss things from sketchy parts of the internet. One of them actually worked, but it was nowhere near normal. It involved her inserting things in places other than the mouth, which she continued doing after switching schools.

  So after Morris lost his virginity to her, his body changed over the next month. Growing from 5'7 to 6'5 feet, with rippling muscles. The attention he got nearly drowned him, from the guys who just wanted to know how, the coaches who needed him to play, and the girls who never stopped flirting. He couldn't shake off the years of self-doubt, so the attention proved to much, and he also changed schools. He kept in touch with Tina and they went to the same college continuing their relationship. She was the one who convinced him to join the Talented Tenth after he threw away his invite.
