The Gallantry Department
A special unit headquartered in the U.K. The Gallantry Department were created by the royal family to discreetly take care of supernatural, monstrous and regional problems. They dressed formally and wore custom fitting, professionally tailored matching suits. They even were sent on loan to surrounding countries a few times. The U.K. suffered an increase in the unexplainable in 1970, and they weren't equipped to handle it. So they scoured the world for people who had powers, or some kind of connection or experience with the weirdness.
They cobbled together a fascinating group of people that successfully defended her majesty and her subjects for years before they retired in 2000. With the amount of heroes around, and them growing in age they figured their job was done and someone else could pick up the mantle if they wanted to.
