Sohei Sun-Wards

The Sohei Sun-Wards were a group of Japanese heroes in the early 70's. They protected Japan and helped neighboring countries if they were in danger as well. They often fought the Yakuza, terrorist groups and supervillains but there weren't as many back then, they also helped mitigate damage from any incoming natural disasters if there were any. Despite operating for over 20 years they are virtually unknown beyond Japan.

The members of the Sun-Wards were:
  • Hoshi Otoko (Star Man) - He had the power to form crystal ninja stars that he could ignite when he threw them.
  • Suisei (Comet) - She could control a blaze of fire to move any way she wanted.
  • Juryoku Beruto (Gravity Belt) - He could cause debris to orbit around someone in increasing or decreasing speed.
  • Josho Musuko (Rising Son) - He had super strength, and could leap great distances.
  • Tsuki Kitsune (Moon Fox) - She could glow with a blindingly bright light, and had the agility of a fox.
Their most famous enemies were the Black Badge Ronin Clan, who gathered large numbers of people who took over the country sides.
The Atomites, who were people who either already had powers or got powers from one of the nuclear bombs that dropped and became deformed and went mad.
The Atom Force Samurai, who when caught in the blast as a baby, his parents put him in the old family armor to try to protect him, he absorbed the blast and gained a molecular link with his armor.
The Nuclear Family, these were powered people who did survive the blast but weren't deformed or went mad, they adapted to it. They would try to destroy Japan for surrendering before going to attack America, but were always defeated.
The Kaiju, who were just giant animals who also adapted to the nukes.
The Gentleman, a Korean man who vowed revenge for the comfort women from his country.
The Great Han, a Chinese man who tried to take over Japan to deliver it back to his country as a puppet state.
Tsar Rus, a Russian man who fashioned himself after the russian monarchies, he and his followers plagued the smaller islands of Japan.
Gumbo, a man from the southern part of the United States. He could copy and mix others powers into a unique power of his own. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why he wanted to attack Japan as much as he did. But he would always return.   After a long career of heroics, they group got into a battle with the supervillain known as the Surgeon. A super powered clone of Shirō Ishii, who was kidnapping people to continue his experiments. After he killed the newest incarnation of Rajin, the group caught and locked him away. Following those events the group officially retired in 1989.
