Yaiza worked for a mining company founded by a wealthy family. It was passed down throughout the family and next in line was the current heads nephew. Many thought he wasn't prepared but he was liked. Focusing on team building, giving gifts and promotions, people forgot about his inexperience when he was handing out bonuses left and right. Yaiza became his personal secretary, doing everything he needed and more.

Yaiza felt like she was his best friend and biggest supporter. Even when she noticed a few things were off about the financials she thought nothing of it. But he personally assured her that he was just working on something big and it wanted it to be a surprise. Out of nowhere he took the whole office on a team building trip to Mt. Everest. While on the mountain the weather took a turn but nobody knew because all the batteries in the radios died on the way up. It became incredibly hard just to move, and they had to turn back earlier than expected. Yaiza got stuck while everyone kept moving, the only around one to hear her was her boss. He came back, told her he knew she suspected something about what she saw, and that he was sorry. Then he walked away leaving her to die on the mountain, she struggled as hard as she could to get down. Passing out multiple times, her arms froze over but she was still able to move. She eventually made it, and was taken to a hospital.

She woke up in a high tech hospital, next to people very happy to see her. She recognized the logos on the uniforms, they were a hospital run by a rival company, and had a lot of questions for her. Questions she was very happy to answer, but she was surprised by the body count she racked up in her near frozen state. Her powers drained the heat from others to keep her alive, and it's what drew their attention. She was just happy to be alive, as far as she was concerned everyone left her for dead, and she was grateful for her rescue. She accepted their job offer, which gave her an exciting opportunity to use her new powers.
