Puckshot

Terrence was a hockey fan through and through, it's all he ever wanted to do as a kid. He'd spend hours watching games to pick up new moves or practicing on the ice. Nothing made him happier than scoring a goal, he even kept a puck in his pocket to "stay in the game". He had a shot like a shotgun blast and he always thought it was only a matter of time before he made it. But when he discovered that he developed hockey related powers he got scared, and hid them from everyone, never revealing them to the public.

He never used his powers during his games, not even once. Even though he never told anyone about his powers, he didn't want anyone to have cause to call him a cheat. He was one of the fastest growing stars of the NHL, with many people saying he might break the scoring record years before retirement. He had it all until one of games got out of control, he had an incredibly intense rivalry with another player. Frankly the two just flat out hated each other, it even extended to their families who often got into brawls in the stands. During one of the games they smashed each other into the glass so hard it broke, the other player ended up with a busted nose. Terrence's wife was right behind the glass and got riled up quickly to insult the player. The player rushed over to the puck, and aimed at Terrence's wife who was holding their newborn and took a shot as hard as he could.

The crowd went silent in shock, the puck was suspended in the air mere inches from his son's head. Terrence waved his hand and the puck hit the player in the mouth knocking him down, giving him time to rush over and beat his face in. While the player was getting charged, he launched spurious accusation that he knew Terrence was cheating the whole time, and couldn't prove it and it's why he was so angry. This began a back and forth with legal battles and public opinion about powered people in sports that forced Terrence to retire.

He was severely depressed for months, and didn't know what he would do until his wife convinced him to stop ignoring his powers and use them. He didn't see an opportunity to do so until he stopped a robbery he saw one day, and then began his next journey as a hero.
