Personal history
Lisa was always a rambunctious sort, her friends would say her personality definitely outgrew her size. She was the outspoken person that had no problem getting in your face, even if she had to punch you in the balls to reach it. She reminded her mother of the puppy from Scooby Doo who was always punching up, which is how she got the nickname Scrappy. That trait would serve her well for the challenges she would face later in life.
After her grandmothers funeral, Lisa was helping the family clean out the home and taking the things that reminded them of her. While she was clearing out her attic looking for old pictures. She came across an impossibly ancient, masterly crafted golden box, with a very well preserved silk woven interior. It was clearly supposed to house something very special, but it was nothing but a dingy coin made from those machines that turn pennies into souvenirs. She tossed the coin but kept the box, and after clearing the house of sentimental value she came back later to stay the night.
While going through her grandmothers clothes for anything that she could use, she threw an old pair heels on the floor that sounded odd when it landed. She picked it up and found a hidden compartment in the heel, with a very nice ring with a small shield on it. This looked a lot more appropriate for the box she found earlier, and naturally she put the ring on. When she did the shield on the ring popped off and hovered in front of her. When she walked toward it a bullet came breaking through the window. The ring itself grew on her finger, then expanded across her entire body protecting her as the bullet ricocheted off her chest. The shield grew to her size then popped out its step for her to stand on. When she jumped on it the shield starting flying through the air, smashing into the shooter and knocking him out before flying her off to safety.
After a lot of trial and error and a few other assassination attempts she learned to fully control her shield, which also granted her a spear to wield in combat. Lisa was in no way going to miss out on all the fun of being a hero. That wasn't her style, so before she solved the mystery of her assassination attempts, she threw her weight around on some local criminals. She later learned that shield had a connection to an old family in China, who very much considered it their property. Which took her down a crash course adventure leading to ancient family secrets that were best left forgotten.
