Personal history
In life he lived in the golden age of the vikings, but he wasn't a warrior that skalds would waste time on. He was a scoundrel, a murderer, a rapist, a thief, a liar, traitor and worst of all, an oath breaker. Thats not to say he wasn't a great warrior, if he had the notion to pursue glory like others of his time he might've been one of those men whose name still live on today. But he wasn't, and he died a meaningless death.
When he was sent to Hel he was meant to join all others like him, but fate intervened. Níðhöggr claimed him and brought him to the corpse shore, Nástrǫnd. He feared he would be eaten, but Níðhöggr saw his worth in battle, and he had his own plans for him. Oath-Breaker was given power, as long as he consumed the dead he would gain a ghostly advantage over his enemies. As long as he would deliver him corpses to eat, and if he delivered him enough he would make Oath-Breaker human again.
Oath-Breaker was then sent back to Earth to fulfill his side of the bargain. He started going to the morgues, eating corpses and sending them to Nástrǫnd, stealing their souls from whatever afterlife they were intended for. Which was noticed by heroes who were attuned to the supernatural, who we constantly battled with. He eventually met some others like him and joined together to form the Infernals.
