Melvin is that kid you feel sorry for, you wish him all the best, and hope everything works out for yet you can NOT bring yourself to hang out with him. He's not disgusting but he's not clean, not dumb but not smart and not boring nor exciting. He's just more along the lines of a queasy middle, and people pick up on that real fast. This has left Melvin on a constant search to make friends, cool friends who will make everyone else want to hang out with him to. It just so happens that every now and then he actually succeeds.

The thing about Melvins friendship is it kinda makes you crazy. People who become friends with him happen to end up doing awful things they wouldn't do before. He's had multiple people attack his parents, some attack his teachers and one throw a bullies dog in a wood chipper. Melvin is such bad luck people don't even want to hear him speak. That phrase that he loves to say in his high voice "Hey guyyys" is like nails on a chalkboard when he comes around.

Without knowing he met some of the Argonauts, who after reluctantly listening to him also became his friend. They also began to do horrible things as well, and stopped being his friend. He got a little miffed after this, and the personal lives of the argonauts started going haywire. Their friendships & relationships turned sour, and they kept receiving notes in their locker from M.M., and they had no clue who that was. Melvin was disturbed that they didn't even know his name. He complained about them to everyone he could. Then the Argonauts suddenly were being attacked by all kinds of people, including a few new villains.

When the Argonauts realized it was him doing it, they confronted him in their Argonaut form, expecting a fight. But he had absolutely no clue why they were angry at him, and didn't realize he even had powers. Because of this they let him go, but never revealed their actual identities. Melvin however was happy, he now knew of a much easier way to make friends.

Melvin is a very friendly, yet highly awkward person that most people don't enjoy being around. So he just goes around constantly trying to make new friends.
