Started in 1948, this group was created to help the common man who wanted an affordable defense against organized crime, but also feared police involvement. So they would either protect their client or try to neutralize the offending party. They had great success against the smaller crime families and local gangs, but the connections of the larger ones proved problematic. But word had spread of their courage to stand up against such a dug in opponent, that people around the country wanted their help. This allowed them to afford far more men, powerful weapons and specialized training. Once they got veterans to join up they had a heavier hand to deal with.
Present day they're a multinational securities firm. Protecting, retrieving or securing whatever their client requests of them. In an attempt to drum up even more business they've added heroes to their roster. Becoming one of the many corporations with heroes sporting their logo.
