Merisse Aloumetri

Merisse Aloumetri was a descendant of Reveka Aloumetri, Princess of Vielene, but coming after the era of the Vielene/Valgrozna royal family being foremost in that country. Technically she was still a princess, but since she never inherited the throne the line passed on and eventually faded from relevance.
  We still remember Merisse, though. Partially because she was descended from someone who may have possibly been the oldest known superhero in history, but also because she had fourteen children. The combination of the two makes her someone likely for an early spread of superpowers.
  Based on stories of the time, in the mid-1800s, it is entirely probable that she was one of the superheroes of the time. There are a handful of sources that make it clear that someone with fire powers was quite sporadically active during that time, with gaps in her career happening to coincide with the birth of one of Merisse's children.
  Interestingly, none of these children followed in her footsteps, and she seems to have taken steps to ensure that none of them would. This almost makes sense, since being a hero is dangerous work, and Merisse lived in a dangerous time in which the Veleen and the Grozni came to civil war, which displaced many people, including Merisse.
  Hyperbole would declare her to be the mother of modern heroship. Common sense states that there were many others in the world who had powers already and it's actually still pretty unlikely to be related to her. Plus, in terms of setting precedent, we can leave a lot more to Reveka in terms of a lot of the protocols we still follow.
