Aloumetri Peak

Because if you're a royal, you need a mountain named after you. Preferably one that no one can actually access.   A/n: To be fair, you can actually access the mountain. Sort of. You just don't usually want to.   The fact that it periodically floats up and above its usual resting place makes it unusual. The fact that it comes crashing down after makes it not a viable place to live near. The resulting shockwaves tend to cause damage to the poor idiot who builds nearby. Which in recent years is no one, because they have better options available.   The truly tempting portion of it is the space that emerges beneath the peak. From the distance you're usually forced to observe, it looks like it's full of fascinating debris, possibly a whole bunch of valuable minerals. Possibly some unknown geological formations.   It's not worth it. The times at which it ascends and descends are completely random, and often vindictive. Those who have gone down to prove some theory or other about knowing when it's going to go up or down always come to a bad end. Even those who send down drones have been known to have an unusually bad time of it.   The stone itself is a beautiful color, a kind of gray green that shines in the sun beautifully. On the whole, it makes a perfect royal monument: something utterly untouchable, and still beautiful. It's also a good monument when you consider that the Aloumetri family produced one of the first public superheroes, and probably a number of others before that when you consider the country's history of mysterious acts of good that usually connected to the areas where they were found.   It's gotten a deadly reputation, for good reason, and as such most people are happy to leave it alone, at a safe distance.
