Session 8: The Vanishing of Eve Report

General Summary

The investigation begins.   First stop: The police station. Eleanor arranges for the coterie to assemble at the Tempe Police Department. While there, John and Killian discover that for some undiscernible reason, Eve's missing poster appears distorted to them while otherwise looking completely normal to everyone else. This odd fact is later echoed when the Police chief seems to react a little funny when Eleanor brings this to his attention. Speaking of the Police Chief, Elias seems pretty forthcoming with information about the Evangeline case. States he figures she got tired of her life and rendezvoused with some handsome stranger she didn't tell her folks about. Said her coworkers weren't much help and no lead towards a kidnapper ever surfaced. All they know that's strange about this whole thing is that her car disappeared with her and no witnesses have come forward with any sightings of it since she got into it after work a few days before she was reported missing.   Other than Elias' surface thoughts and theories, Killian also scores Eve's VIN to try searching up later, figuring it couldn't do any harm to plug it into his database and see what happens.   A little annoyed but given workable information, the coterie sets off to Eve's parents' house- her apparent place of residence before her disappearance. The coterie learns a few things about her while investigating here;
  1. Her father, Eustace, didn't inform her brother that she went missing. In fact, it seems he was dodging phone calls from her brother all together.
  2. Eve was exchanging secret notes with a special somebody, as implied by a legal pad and a premonition given to El via some ash in her trashcan.
  3. And this special someone could be a man if a shirt hidden at the bottom of her laundry basket was anything to go by.
Additionally, a strange fact about the shirt arouses some concern in Eleanor as she realizes she's unable to use it as a conduit for a premonition, something about the article deflecting her abilities.   After collecting a list of names from their contact cards near the landline, the coterie then decides to split up briefly to allow Killian and Juno to look into that VIN before the coterie once again unites at the Elementary School Eve was last seen at.
