The Last Ambrosia
It is said that there is but one last ambrosia tree hidden in the far north on a solitary island. This is one of the more famous stories told locally in the Three Kingdoms about that tree.
Story
In the days before the Reformation amid the mountains of Shitari an unnatural blight affected the land warping people, plants, and animals. Nothing is known of its origin only that it was unstoppable. Many fled the continent for fear of the blight and the monsters that it raised up to cover the land.
There seemed to be no hope until two warriors arrived from the South. Flame-haired, gregarious Velora and Raven-haired, stoic Cyana. Both warriors were highly skilled and wielded great power. They saved many lives and inspired many more. Together the pair fought back the blighted creatures, but there were more and more every day. Velora and Cyana searched for the source of the blight, but the source remained unknown. Instead they sought out a power to deal with the blight once and for all.
In an old tower, Cyana found a book that told of the location of the last tree of ambrosia, the nectar of the gods. She and Velora believed that to find such would grant them the power to overcome the monsters that plagued the lands of the north.
They journeyed north past mountains and ice, across ice sheets and glaciers until they found an oasis in the frozen tundra where a single tree with golden leaves sprouted a single golden fruit. The pair agreed to share the fruit to defeat the blight together. They returned in force and drove back the worst of the monstrosities.
However, Cyana grew to revel in her power and her desire to gain more rose and rose. She coveted the remaining fruit they had, seeking to steal it for her own.
After a fierce battle defending a town, the pair were seen arguing upon a hilltop. It was there when Cyana struck down Velora, stealing the fruit from her bloodied hands and devouring it in a blinding flash of light. The townsfolk who had loved Velora rallied and sought to stop Cyana, but she fled from them. The blighted monstrosities disappeared with her to the further northern wilds. Some say that she still stalks the lands with her blighted minions at her beck and call.
