Summer Camp 2025 - Reading Challenge
Well, this was the first time that I was able to achieve any of the levels in a WorldAnvil challenge and I got Diamond in this Summer Camp. Wild.
So, let's do the Reading Challenge , too?
Reading Challenge 2025
Favourite Articles
- Blooding the Soil (A ritual related to agriculture) by The Moonlit Bard.
- Well, I wasn't expecting that article to end that way, but now I'm real curious about the rest of the world.
- Furrow Maker's Blessing (A ritual related to agriculture) by Dragonid.
- There seems to be a lot of integration of the magic of this world into the way that rural/agriculture is done. Something I need to be fairly mindful of. The way that religion and magic would intersect in every day life.
- Ohsumi's Dermatitis - The Pink Crusties (A condition you can get from eating specific foods) by POCGamer.
- Horrifying that you feel the urge to eat MORE of the stuff that is giving you an allergic reaction. Though to be fair, I can't handle spice, but do love certain spicy foods..
- Thread Drive (A cutting edge technology expected to change the future) by JaxonLeeRose.
- I do love me some interesting takes on space travel. Real curious as to how the existence of the Silk Thread will change views on the make up of the universe.
- Urkorrika (An animal celebrity) by Demongrey.
- Companions and pets always desire their own page, especially adorable cephalopods.
- Sunfire Loaf (A delicious staple found on every dinner table) by Make Lore, Not War.
- Hard to choose just one article by this writer, to be honest. All so good, but I do feel I should be better about not just ideas on foods and recipes, but also how to incorporate the lore flavour in with quotes/etc.
- Oil-Slick Star (A myth about a legendary food or drink) by nnie.
- Another hard-to-choose-just-one-article worlds. Been following nnie for a hot minute and their work is always stellar. Pun not intended, but I wish it had been.
- Melting Illusion (A transformation caused by a celestial body) by Soul Sorbert.
- I wish I'd thought of this myself. The idea that moonlight can act as a means to shed illusion/reveal the truth of a thing is fun.
- Alessian Hospitaliers (A charity dedicated to helping those in need) by Barbarossa Sparklebeard.
- The different branches. I knew I should have added more to my orgs. Especially the Nysian Sisterhood. Differences within the group make a lot of sense, even if I mentioned them tangentially. Reading these other types of articles really does help to identify things you missed yousrelf.
- Leycordia (A tool used by a nomadic culture) by oaster2000.
- Always important to create the things that appear in your dreams. Definitely love the layout here and the mystery surrounding the item and its purpose.
Worldbuilding Goals 2026
I mean, the obvious is to finish fleshing out more details on the Sunev world. In particular, writing more about the dragons themselves as well as the finer details of the regional setting I'm thinking of for the campaign I'll set in that world. Need to set myself more time to force some writing and detailing on practices as well as more non-fiction reading.
There are so many wonderful worldbuilders out there on this site that I'm just agog at. Still, the very fact that I've been able to get my brain working to write down anything shouldn't be discounted.
I suppose the immediate next step is preparing for WorldEmber and solidifying about what Sunev, Arcadia, and the as yet unnamed Necropunk worlds are going to contain.
I should probably look at improving some CSS skills, too, but feels like more of a distraction to actual writing.

Thanks for including my little octopus!
